Peterbilt recently announced its decision to make the air disc brakes a standard feature of all their Class 8 trucks. The VP for PACCAR and General Manager of Peterbilt, Bill Jackson, said that the air disc brakes will offer the markets shortest stopping distance. It also helps to minimize weight with a compact design, reducing maintenance, while improving the efficiency of both the operator and the vehicle.
Peterbilt will be the first OEM in the market making disc brakes a standard feature across their lineup of Class 8 trucks. At the company’s media briefing held during the Mid-America truck show, Bill Jackson, said that these brakes are a premium choice of brakes among fleet operators helping to improve the productivity and reduce the downtime.
